From Injustice to Influence: Cultivating BIPOC Leadership in the Energy Industry

Partnered with a national media campaign to design and deliver executive coaching for BIPOC energy leaders spotlighted in the initiative. Through six tailored coaching sessions per participant, I supported leaders in advancing organizational growth, board governance, and strategic advocacy—resulting in outcomes such as New York City’s first modest fashion thrift store, a multi-state coalition with strengthened governance, and amplified BIPOC representation at the UN Climate Change Conference.

Building Resilient, Equity-Driven Leadership for New York’s Energy-Equity Movement
Serve as staff leadership coach, working alongside the executive director, senior leaders, and team members to build both individual and collective capacity. My role blends one-on-one coaching, small-group facilitation, and workshops with the co-design of their annual offsite and customized leadership programs for their broader community. Together, we strengthen strategic clarity, resilience, and collaboration, while grounding leadership practices in culture and equity. This ongoing partnership supports KC3’s mission to advance climate justice and energy equity in New York’s disinvested communities, ensuring their team is equipped to sustain impact and innovation.

Replenishing and Restoring Advocates and Fortifying a Statewide Network

Designed and curated a restorative retreat for the Black and Indigenous Birth Justice Collaborative in Washington State. Through intentional design and facilitation, the retreat fostered connection and solidarity, building the foundation for stronger networks advancing maternal health equity. The gathering also replenished leaders’ emotional capacity and strengthened their ability to sustain long-term advocacy and care work.

Rooting into Culture to Strengthen Generations of Sustainable Leadership
Facilitate and design the Healing Tides initiative to nurture nine Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander organizations across Southern California. Through intergenerational pairings, healing-centered retreats, ten one-on-one coaching sessions per leader, cultural immersion at the Festival of Pacific Arts & Culture in Hawai’i, and tailored capacity building, we addressed burnout, unclear roles, and leadership transition. The initiative has supported clarifying strategic visions, shifting working boards toward sustainable staffing models, strengthening governance and team capacity, and embedding cultural identity into operations. Healing Tides is restoring NHPI leadership capacity and rooting nonprofit sustainability in collective care.

The Oregon Pacific Islander Coalition is a collective of Pacific Islander (PI) leaders who have been doing work in the community, often unresourced, for the last decade. We originally organized as the Oregon Pacific Islander COVID-19 Response Task Force in the Spring of 2020, collecting money and food out of our own pockets and pantries to care for our people.

Co-facilitate coaching circles that strengthen leadership across generations of Pacific Islander leaders in Oregon. Through a blend of retreats, group coaching, and one-on-one sessions, executive directors deepened their capacity to lead PI organizations in innovative and restorative ways, while emerging leaders built skills, networks, and confidence to step into community responsibility.

This ongoing partnership is cultivating a “waterway” of resilient Pacific Islander leaders, with the next phase expanding into deeper one-on-one coaching for returning participants.
